Hire a personal assistant for care at home

We will provide funding so you can pay your PA at the agreed rates. You can contact us to get the pay rates. 

You will need to pay:  

• above the London Living Wage for waking hours (day or night), we will tell you this rate every year 
• National Minimum Wage for sleep in shifts paid at an hourly rate for 8 hour shifts 
• National Insurance Contributions on your employees wages. You will get advice when you register as an employer 

To get a discount on your National Insurance Contribution bill, claim employment allowance.

Other costs 

We will: 

• build the cost of a DBS check into your budget 
• provide funding for you to buy Employer Liability Insurance or buy the policy for you 
• help you apply for funding from Skills for Care for care-related training
