How to set up a direct payment

If you already get care and support, speak to your social worker.  

If you do not get care and support, you will need to ask for care and support from the council.

Once you have your care and support plan and know how to use your budget you can choose to set up direct payments.  

To do this: 

  1. sign our direct payment agreement 
  2. choose and set up a direct payment account 
  3. find care staff or services that help you meet the goals in your care and support plan 
  4. we’ll send you your direct payment for you to use to pay for your care 
  5. we'll check how you're getting on and managing your account
