Who can become a Shared Lives carer
To become a carer you need to have:
- the time and energy to spend time with and support someone to live in your home as part of your family
- a spare double room if you’re providing long-term or respite support. This will need to meet the Shared Lives standards
- the time and ability to arrange and offer fun and rewarding activities for someone with a disability
Ideally, you would also have some relevant experience in the care sector.
