Get an interim death certificate from the coroner
Deaths that have been reported to a coroner can take a while to be processed.
If you need proof of death while making funeral arrangements or dealing with the person’s estate, you can contact the coroner for an interim death certificate. This is also known as a Certificate of the Fact of Death.
