Do you dream of working for yourself? Do you have a burning business idea that just won’t go away?

Then GCDA business start-up course could help you turn your dream into a reality. It is free for London residents.

Across eight sessions:
- they’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide to planning and launching a business
- they’ll help you identify routes to market, show you how to manage your finances and market your services
- they’ll teach you how to get started on the road to business success.

The course is led by tutors with decades of business experience, and is for anyone who is bored at work, has a desire to be their own boss, or those keen to find a way back to a more flexible, career after being away from the workplace.

GCDA have already helped many small businesses get off the ground, from street food stalls to interior designers. Yours could be next.

Learning Objectives:
- Analyse aims and identify a personal development plan
- Develop a feasibility study and market research to assess the viability of business idea
- Identify the most appropriate legal structure
- Describe the process of financial management and how this applies to the business
- Develop and practice using a profit and loss spreadsheet including start-up budget
- Review marketing and branding techniques and develop a communications plan
- Using all this information, complete a business plan to get up and running.
- Identify sources of funding

Due to previous experience with large numbers of people booking onto courses and not turning up, GCDA will take a £10 deposit for each course to help ensure attendance: You will be eligible to get the deposit back if you attend every session.

If leaving a £10 deposit is a barrier because of financial difficulties, please contact training@gcda.org.uk to talk to GCDA about this.
