The Tarn is a beautiful landscaped garden and lake with interesting wildfowl and a bird sanctuary. Many original features have been retained from the 1930s.

- There is a picnic area and an 18th century ice well, which used to be a storage area for ice used by the kitchen staff at Eltham Palace.
