Sport, Leisure, Libraries and Adventure Play

What we do
  • Manage the Leisure and Libraries Contract, which is operated by Greenwich Leisure Limited.
  • Work in partnership with statutory, community, and voluntary sectors to increase participation in sport and physical activity for those people who live, work or learn in the borough.
  • Undertake consultation with the local community, statutory, public, private and voluntary sectors where appropriate.
  • Lead and advise on projects relating to capital developments from building or refurbishing leisure facilities, to renovating and designing outdoor sport and physical activity space.
Why we need your information and how we use it
  • Provide you with information relating to opportunities to participate in sport / and or physical activity
  • give you the opportunity to be consulted on services, or receive your feedback relating to sport, leisure, libraries, adventure playgrounds or physical activity
  • Where appropriate provide you, as one of our partner organisations, with information relating to what is available, connect you to other partners, keep you informed of plans, and developments all relating to sport, leisure, libraries and adventure play
  • If you are involved in one of our directly managed programmes, e.g. Tennis in the Park, we will be able to inform you of any future programmes, or information linked to a club or other session that may take place, with some of our partners
What is our power to obtain and use personal data?

We are allowed to process personal and sensitive data for the following reasons:

  • For public tasks or statutory functions
  • For a contract for the supply of requested goods or services
  • With consent, where there is documented evidence of that consent
  • For legitimate Interests

Partner organisation

If you are a partner organisation, we would hold:

  • Name
  • Job Title
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Office number
  • Mobile number (if available)

Individual - any age

If you are an individual involved directly with one of our programmes or initiatives, or consultations we would hold a range of information that could include:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Gender of child
  • Email address (of parent or Guardian)
  • Contact number
  • Details of special educational needs and/or disabilities
  • Medical information
  • Details of parent/carer including mobile
  • Additional emergency contact details
  • Additional information (free box) in support of application which can include
Who we may share your information with

Partner organisation

Your data may be shared with the following, in relation to sport, leisure, physical activity, libraries, playgrounds:

  • Internal departments
  • Other local authorities
  • The governing bodies of sport, London Sport
  • Other agencies or partners that are part of a steering group or panel
  • Local Councillors
  • Other partner agencies that provide services on our behalf
  • Agencies with whom we have a duty to co-operate, such as police

Individual – any age

Your data may be used for monitoring and evaluation purposes relating to a specific programme or initiative. However, this will be selective, and will only involve, when appropriate, age, gender, ethnicity, first part of postcode, and shared with:

  • Specific funders for a project
  • Internal departments
  • Other local authorities
  • The governing bodies of sport, London Sport,
  • Other agencies or partners that are part of a steering group or panel
  • Local Councillors
  • Other partner agencies, that may wish to see examples of good practice or a successful project
How long we keep your information

Personal data will not be retained for longer than necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected.

Partner organisations

This will be on going and you will be part of a stakeholder network and contacts relating to Sport, Leisure, Libraries, adventure play and physical activity.

Individuals – any age

This will be held when appropriate, in order to ensure future programmes or initiatives are communicated to you.  These will be set up on a database per activity or initiative. Any forms completed in hard copy will be shredded once the activity programme or initiative is completed.
