We are building 40 brand new council homes for local people, comprised of:
- Two three-bedroom houses
- 13 one-bedroom flats, one of which will be wheelchair accessible
- 17 two-bedroom flats, three of which will be wheelchair accessible
- Eight three-bedroom flats
- 100+ square metres of commercial space
The development also incorporates:
- Four blue badge car parking spaces
- 73 long stay cycle spaces
- Six visitor short stay cycle spaces
- Private and shared outdoor space including play areas
All of the new homes at Orangery Lane will be constructed quickly and efficiently using modular construction techniques, and the following sustainable technologies will be incorporated so that all our homes will qualify as zero carbon buildings:
- High efficiency air source heat pumps and hot water provision
- Core material sourced from sustainable suppliers
- High performance building fabric
- Triple Glazing
- Photovoltaic system (solar panels) to harness natural sunlight energy to generate electricity
- Energy efficient Lighting
- Energy efficient cooling and ventilation system
