Southspring Site A (now Taman Mews)

What we're thinking about building on this site

Two two-bedroom houses, each with its own garden and parking space

Current status
Our new homes are now complete!
How can residents have their say on our plans?

We held a consultation meeting and online survey in September 2019, and amended our plans in response to resident feedback. The feedback we received at this meeting and via an online questionnaire were then taken into account as we created the designs which have now been given planning approval. You can see documents related to this development on the Planning Portal

Sustainability credentials

The following technologies and techniques have been incorporated into the design of our new homes to maximise sustainability and minimise environmental impact:

  • The houses will be constructed using SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels), with air leakage rates as low as 0.08 air changes per hour
  • The heat recovery aspect reduces heat loss in winter and can be specified with bypass for summer months to provide some cooling
  • Solar panels will be fixed directly to the SIPs roof panels
  • Additional insulation may be placed on the outside of the panels if required
  • The SIP panel system is highly sustainable, being Timber PEFC certified.
  • The masonry building and high ceilings (2.5m) will allow for heat management within the building
  • Air tightness and insulation will be carefully considered to maximise energy savings
