£90Blackheath Halls Orchestra are excited to be playing Holst’s The Planets this Autumn – a fabulous and ambitious piece.
Rehearsing from Wednesday 9 October we will be working towards presenting two concerts on Sunday 24 November.
Performance 1 at 4pm This will be a family concert presented by Aga Serugo Lubo. The concert will last approximately 45 minutes and Aga will present three of the planets from the suite with narrative to engage a family audience. We will also be joined by a Primary School group who will present their own composition inspired by The Planets
Performance 2 at 7pm The orchestra will perform the full suite as well as The Needles, a short overture by Matthew Taylor in celebration of his 60th birthday

Strings and woodwind: Sunday 13 October 10.30am – 1.30pm
Brass and Percussion: timings tbc
As a very large orchestra is required to play this piece, we are looking for more players to come and join us for this exciting project.
We need to recruit:
- A few more violins and violas
- Cor anglais
- Contra bassoon
- 2 French horns
- 3 trumpets
- 1 trombone
- 1 bass trombone
- 1 tenor tuba
