The Caribbean Social Forum proudly presents ‘The Way We Were: Pioneer Women of the Caribbean’, an exhibition offering a powerful insight into their lives, before they left their homelands, their experiences in forging new lives in Britain, and the enduring influence they have created for their families and the wider community. Join us for the launch event featuring live entertainment, light refreshments, and storytelling. Sonia McIntosh MBE, Caribbean Social Forum, said:“This International Women’s Day, and in celebration of our 10th anniversary, we decided to honour the resilience, strength, and contributions of the pioneering women of the Caribbean Social Forum. Many of our women arrived as young adults, while others came as children. The journey from their Motherland to the Mother Country was filled with dreams, hope, and desire, yet when they arrived, they were faced with challenges they had not even anticipated.”
