The popular and sought after, annual, FREE, 12 week Couch-to-5k programme is returning. Starting 10am Saturday 18th January 2025. 

This course is ideal for those new to running or those returning after time away (illness, injury, pregnancy etc.). It is a great way to stay motivated, learn a new skill, make new friends, challenge yourself and enjoy the outdoors in the new year. You do not need any prior fitness to participate. 

England Athletics trained leaders and coaches will cover dynamic warm up, strength training for runners, running technique, cool down, post running stretches. Over 12 weeks you will gradually build up to running for 30minutes or 5km. Trainers will encourage you to train an additional two times per week between sessions and to practice the taught strength exercises at home.

This 12 week course is designed to also cater for those who may have little to no baseline fitness or who have been away from exercise for some time. If you have significant health concerns and are unsure, please speak with us and your GP. The running club welcomes those with disabilities.

Sporting Club Thamesmead has a car park and the building is wheelchair accessible.

The event will be upstairs - a lift is available for any attendees who may need it.
