Graphic Scores Music Workshop

Explore works using graphic notation with Riot Ensemble.

Riot Ensemble's Education Director Sarah Dacey presents a workshop in which participants compose short works using graphic notation inspired by the shapes and colours of the Bauhaus movement. Working alongside bass clarinettist Heather Roche and pianist Claudia Maria Racovicean, we look together at existing graphic scores and the students explore musical texture, expression and form without feeling constrained by traditional notation. The musicians will then perform the finished work.
