The presence of the African and Caribbean communities in The Royal Borough of Greenwich has a strong connection to the British colonial past. The movement of people brings new ideas, perspectives and insights into how we make sense of the world and connect with one another. Black British history has made a substantial contribution in
shaping the cultural landscape of London and in many parts of the UK, through the work of artists, writers, and filmmakers to name a few.
This special curated film programme shares the work of creative practitioners across the broad spectrum of moving image, animation and documentary. The selected work responds to the Black History Month 2024 theme: Reclaiming the Narrative.
The screening will be held at SET Woolwich with free refreshments provided by the SET Cafe with access to the SET Garden before and after the screening.
SET has accessible access and a car park for those that need it.
This project is funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich
