Planning for care if something happens to you

An emergency plan or contingency plan can ease your worries if you find yourself unable to care for the person you look after.

This may be if you get ill, injured or cannot give the person you care for the support they need.

Help writing a contingency plan

Greenwich Carers Centre can help you write a plan to follow if anything happens to you.

They will give you an emergency card to carry with you with the details of the person you care for, what they need, the care you provide and who to contact.

The person who you and the person you care for choose will be contacted to take over your caring role until you’re able to again.

You’ll also be registered to the Royal Greenwich 24-hour community alarm service.

Contact Greenwich Carers Centre to find out more about the Carer’s Contingency Plan.
