Things you cannot use your personal budget for
You must only use your personal budget for things that help meet your needs.
You cannot use your personal budget for:
- household bills, clothes or food
- long term residential or nursing care
- services you should get from the NHS such as physiotherapy
- employing family members who already live with you
- adaptations to your home
- equipment that helps you in daily life such as walking frames, stair lifts and hoists. We may loan items to you or provide them for free on prescription
- anything that is illegal or that could put you at risk. This includes alcohol, drugs, gambling, paying for sex or paying people in cash
You should try to look at different options to find services that are the best value for money.
