We are very proud of the strong relationships that we have with both the schools and businesses, and have a good track record of bringing the two together with work experience.
By doing this we hope to help shape the future workforce by showing education what the business community requires from the next generation and giving young people first hand experience of workplaces raising their aspirations, increasing confidence informing them of the range and variety of careers that are available to them.
Our mission is to enhance the employment prospects, education and skills of local people, especially the young and those who are disadvantaged, through the development of activities which bring business and education together to work in partnership.
Main areas of activity include:
- The development of curriculum projects and material which relate to key skills and the world of work and which contribute to raised achievement and social inclusion
- The development of quality work experience for young people aged 14 – 19 in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
- The development of activities which facilitate young people’s progression to further and higher education or training or employment
- The facilitation of industry days, workshops and schools visits between business and education to raise aspirations of young people and expand knowledge and awareness of careers / industry
