Be realistic about the size and type of property you need. Do not look for a property that is too small for you in the hope of being transferred to a larger property later.
You cannot swap for a home that is bigger than you need.
Both partners in any exchange must have the permission of each landlord to move. If you do not get the landlord's permission to swap, you could lose your tenancy.
Contact the person directly and make sure they are interested in a swap. If they are, you should visit each other's homes and make sure the property is right for you.
