External improvements

External home improvements are repairs or refurbishments done to the outside of a council home or block. This will include but is not limited to: 

  • new windows and doors 

  • installing new roofs 

  • repairing concrete and timber walkways 

  • building new gutters and communal outdoor spaces 

  • lift replacements 

  • cavity and external wall insulation 

  • external decoration work: painting, brickwork repair etc. 

  • communal heating system improvements 

  • CCTV upgrades 

 

Below is a summary of some of the completed external works:  
 
In the 2023 to 2024 financial year, we: 

  • installed 2 air source heat pumps 

  • installed 6 communal heating systems  

  • installed 43 photovoltaic (solar) panels 

  • replaced 322 windows 

  • replaced 682 individual front doors 

  • replaced 23 individual back doors 

In the 2022 to 2023 financial year we: 

  • installed 8 air source heat pumps 

  • installed 9 communal heating systems 

  • replaced 347 individual front doors 

  • replaced 25 individual back doors
