You must send us a completion notice within five days of the work being completed if you are carrying out notifiable building work. This can be done by the client, agent or builder.
We will not visit your site for a completion inspection until we’ve received this notice.
Before you submit a completion notice, you or your builder will need to supply certain test results or certificates. For a domestic extension, this may include:
- electrical installation certificate
- fire alarm installation and commissioning certificate
- gas certificate
- double-glazing specification

If all goes well, we have received all the certificates and are satisfied that you have complied with regulations, we will issue a completion certificate.
