Development plans
The redevelopment of Kidbrooke has seen the demolition of 1,900 properties on the former Ferrier Estate. These will be replaced on a phased basis by 5,268 new homes.
A total of 35 per cent of the new homes will be affordable housing including homes for rent and shared ownership.
The first new homes were completed in 2010.
The development will include:
- new parkland
- new health and community facilities
- new retail and leisure opportunities
- a new train station and improved transport links.
Berkeley Homes is the Royal Borough of Greenwich's development partner and works in partnership with Greenwich Local Labour and Business to provide employment and training opportunities for local people during the construction phase. The development is expected to cost over £1billion to deliver and is scheduled to complete in 2031.
