GNGF Round 6 winners announced 

Allocations for Round 6 of the Greenwich Neighbourhood Growth Fund (GNGF) were agreed by the Leader of the Council on Tuesday 7 May 2024.

The decision is subject to call-in until 5pm Monday 13 May. 

About the GNGF 

Local organisations can apply to the GNGF for funding for projects including improvements to community buildings, environmental improvements and new play equipment. There is a minimum bid amount of £5,000. 

The fund uses money from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). This is a scheme that allows councils to raise money from local developments to help improve infrastructure. 

A portion of the CIL collected (15%) is made available to be spent on local priorities in consultation with the community. This is known as Neighbourhood CIL or the Greenwich Neighbourhood Growth Fund (GNGF). 

The GNFG can be spent on anything which addresses the impact of development in an area. 

Previously funded projects 

Over £2.5m has now been awarded to 157 projects across the borough. These include projects such as: 

· replacing windows at a play centre 

· creating a sensory garden for a hospice 

· running a digital inclusion programme 

· park and playground improvements across the borough 

· a community crèche
