Environment Champions are a special type of volunteer; they help us deal with environmental issues that might have a negative effect on their neighbourhoods.
As an Environment Champion, you keep an eye on your local area and if you notice anything that is problematic, such as dog mess, overflowing litter bins, graffiti and abandoned vehicles, then you report it to the Council. You are the Council's eyes and ears and we will support you throughout. We'll send you information on how to hold community clean up events and how to get your neighbours involved. We'll also provide you with equipment.
So it's a really valuable and important role! Environment Champions help combat envirocrime and help us to keep areas as clean and tidy as they can be.
Become an Environment Champion
If you take pride in where you live and would like to get involved, then contact the Environment Champions team to express your interest (details are below).
The scheme is only open to residents that live in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We can only issue one adult-sized litter-picking kit to keep for each household that registers to the scheme.
