COVID-19 vaccination for frontline social care staff

The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective and it gives you the best protection against the virus.

In line with the current government guidance, vaccinations are still being offered to the frontline social care workforce.

This includes all frontline social care workers directly working with people clinically vulnerable to COVID-19 who need care and support irrespective of where they work (for example in people’s homes, day centres, care homes for working age adults or supported housing); whether they care for clinically vulnerable adults or clinically extremely vulnerable children; or who they are employed by.

How to get vaccinated

If you are a business or charitable organisation that delivers frontline social care services in Royal Greenwich, and your frontline workforce has not yet been vaccinated please let us know what you do and that you employ staff who need to be offered vaccination. Email care-staff-vaccinations@royalgreenwich.gov.uk We will ask you to provide information that is essential to get social care staff vaccinated (first name, second name, date of birth, NHS number and mobile number), and for us to be able to inform the Government about the numbers vaccinated. Your staff can also book directly through the NHS national booking service, but they will require an eligibility letter from Royal Borough of Greenwich to take up the vaccination. This letter can be provided by emailing care-staff-vacccinations@royalgreenwich.gov.uk

If your organisation has volunteers who carry out face to face caring roles, they may also be eligible for vaccination. You may already have been contacted by METRO GAVS, who are working in partnership to support voluntary sector care staff and volunteers to get vaccinated. If not, please let us know what your volunteers do so we can get them vaccinated if eligible. Email care-staff-vaccinations@royalgreenwich.gov.uk

These COVID-19 vaccinations offer the best chance of ending this pandemic, so we urge employers to contact us as soon as possible.
