By-election for Eltham Town and Avery Hill ward to be held on 17 October

The Royal Borough of Greenwich will hold a by-election in Eltham Town and Avery Hill ward on Thursday 17 October 2024, following the resignation of Councillor Sammy Backon.

If you are a resident* of the Eltham Town and Avery Hill ward, you will need to be registered to vote and have a valid form of photo ID with you if you plan to vote in person. 

If you will be away on election day, please be sure to apply for a postal vote or proxy vote as soon as possible.

• Tuesday 1 October at 11.59pm – deadline to register to vote
• Wednesday 2 October at 5pm – deadline to apply for a postal vote
• Wednesday 9 October at 5pm – deadline to register for a proxy vote
• Wednesday 9 October at 5pm – deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate

*You can vote if you are registered and are a British or qualifying EU or Commonwealth Citizen 18 or over on polling day.
