We've partnered with airTEXT so that residents can get air quality warnings sent straight to their phone when there's a forecast of poor air quality or pollution.

Air pollution remains the largest environmental risk to public health and we believe this tool will help many families.

Cllr Mariam Lolavar, Cabinet Member for Health, Adult Social Care and Borough of Sanctuary said: “There are stark health inequalities that exist within the UK, and the situation is no different when we look at the effects air quality has on our health.

“We wouldn’t accept drinking dirty water so we shouldn’t accept breathing dirty air. AirTEXT allows everyone to live their best, healthiest lives and protects the most vulnerable.”

This tool is especially useful for people with lung and heart confitions, parents of small children and the elderly.

Alerts are available via text, voicemail or email. You can also use airTEXT to look at an air quality map across the UK too. Sign up now.
