Almost 100% of families in Royal Greenwich have been offered a place at one of their preferred primary schools after letters went out across the borough for National Offer Day.

For children starting primary school in September 2025, April 16 was a big day as they found out which school they would be attending.

In Royal Greenwich, 99% of families were given a preferred school, with 91% in total being placed at their first preference - a 1.6% increase on last year.

Councillor Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People said: “Our schools strive to ensure every child and young person has an equal opportunity to reach their full potential and be great in Greenwich.

“It’s great to see that many of our families will be heading to a school in our borough and that it is their first preference.

“We have brilliant primary schools, inspiring teachers and an engaging curriculum to lay the groundwork for our kids starting their new venture at big school.”

If your child has been allocated a school not on your preference list, you need to let us know by 30 April if you wish to accept the offer.

If you haven’t already applied and your child is due to start primary school in September, please get in touch with us, there is still time for late applicants.
