An 18-month trial of a neighbourhood management scheme in West and East Greenwich began on 27 November 2024.

This followed two phases of consultation with the public, businesses and schools. We wrote to over 9,200 households and businesses in the area and got over 8,000 responses and ran seven events with over 400 people attending.

There are cameras using Automatic Number Plate Recognition enforcing the scheme. Anyone who is not exempt that passes the areas during these times will get a penalty charge notice (PCN).

What you can do

Apply for an exemption

Vehicles will be automatically exempt if they’re:

  • emergency vehicles
  • taxi cabs (hackney carriages)
  • private hire vehicles registered with TfL

Some residents and organisations can apply for an exemption permit. This allows them to pass through areas in the neighbourhood management scheme without getting a penalty charge notice (PCN).
