What happens next

The application process can take up to 12 weeks. We will not confirm receipt of your application.

We'll give you our decision in writing.

Mobility assessments

We may invite you to a mobility assessment at the Woolwich Centre.  

An occupational therapist or physiotherapist will talk to you about your application and evaluate your mobility.  

If you choose not to have an assessment, we'll ask you for more proof of your disability or medical condition..  

Pay for your badge

If we agree to issue a Blue Badge, we'll ask you to pay over the phone. You can also pay with cash at the Woolwich or Eltham Centre.

We'll then send your badge to your home address in the post within 7 to 10 working days.

You'll also get a booklet about your rights and responsibilities as a Blue Badge holder (GOV.UK).

You do not need to pay the London Congestion Charge with a Blue Badge. You'll need to register your Blue Badge with Transport for London (TFL) first.
