You can request a pedestrian crossing if you think an area needs one.
You'll need to tell us:
- where you want a crossing
- why you want a crossing
You can also ask us to improve an existing crossing.
What happens next
We'll assess the area to see if it needs a crossing and what type. We review requests by looking at the:
- location, for example, if it's close to stations or schools
- record of accidents involving pedestrians
- amount of vehicular and pedestrian traffic
- difficulty pedestrians face from oncoming traffic
- length of time pedestrians have to wait before crossing
If we agree that a crossing would benefit the area, we'll include it as part of a future work programme or funding bid.
Pedestrian crossing signals
Transport for London (TfL) maintains signals and traffic lights at pedestrian crossings.
If you notice a problem, call TfL on 0845 305 1234 or report a problem online.
