- Scrap your vehicle for free
If you live or run a business in the borough, you can scrap your vehicle for free.
Ask us to scrap your vehicle
Fill in the abandoned vehicle disclaimer form and include:
- a copy of your driving license
- a copy of the vehicle log book (V5C)
- the keys to the vehicle
We recommend you send these using the 'Royal Mail Tracked' service.
Send them to:
Royal Borough of Greenwich - Enviro Crime
Mezzanine floor
Birchmere Business Centre
Eastern Way
London, SE28 8BF
The vehicle must be parked somewhere safe that we can get to. You must remove all items, including rubbish, from the vehicle or we will not take it.
What happens next
We'll try to collect your vehicle within a week of receiving your documents.
When we've taken the vehicle, we'll scrap it straight away.
You must tell the DVLA that you've transferred it to us. You can do this online.
Tell DVLA you've transferred a vehicle (GOV.UK).
You can also send the yellow part (section 9) of the vehicle log book (V5C) to the DVLA by post.
