What we promise as a council

As a council, we promise to:

  • provide a reliable waste collection service tailored to your business needs
  • offer recycling services to help businesses reduce their environmental impact
  • support businesses with advice and guidance on waste management best practices
  • take enforcement action against fly-tipping and other illegal waste disposal activities
  • keep public areas clean and safe through regular street cleaning and waste removal
  • provide businesses access to our licensed waste disposal services

What we ask of businesses

As a business operating in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, you pledge to:

  • ensure all business waste is disposed of through a licensed waste carrier
  • sort waste correctly into the appropriate recycling and rubbish streams
  • keep waste bins tidy, secure, and placed for collection on the correct day
  • avoid fly-tipping or leaving waste in public spaces
  • take responsibility for keeping the area around your business premises clean and free of litter
  • use only registered waste contractors to dispose of bulky or large volumes of waste
  • report illegal dumping or waste-related issues to the Council
  • actively reduce waste by adopting recycling and reuse practices
