You can book a collection for household items which are too large to be collected as part of your usual household waste collections.
It costs a fixed fee of £13.09 per item. If you’re a council tenant this fee is already paid for within your service charge.
It costs £3.28 per bag with a minimum charge of £13.12 (4 bags). A maximum of 10 bags is allowed per collection.
What we collect
You can use this service to get rid of items like:
- furniture

- electrical items like fridges and freezers, TVs, washing machines and hoovers
Items that come together, like a sofa set or table and chairs, are considered one item.
What we do not collect

To have your hazardous waste collected, you'll need to book a collection with the City of London.
What to do on collection day
If you have booked an appointment:

- put the items at the front of your property by 6am on appointment day
- do not obstruct the pavement or street
We'll only collect items that:

You’ll need to put some items in strong bags to make them easy to carry. These include:
- carpets (cut up so it can fit in the bags)

The bag should not be bigger than a standard bin bag.
If you live in a flat, bring your items to the ground level and place them by the bins outside.
