The Royal Borough of Greenwich is committed to keeping our streets the cleanest in London, but we need your support.

This charter recognises the real contribution that residents can make to our community and the environment.

Together, we can make the Royal Borough of Greenwich a cleaner, tidier, and safer place that we can all feel proud of.

This Resident Community Charter sets out what the council and residents promise to do, to make our community cleaner and safer.

What we promise as a council

As a council, we promise to:

  • collect your waste and recycling every week
  • keep local high streets clean daily
  • respond quickly to street issues
  • take swift action against anti-social behaviour
  • offer a bulky waste collection service and a free Reuse and Recycling Centre
  • enforce parking regulations to maintain order

What you pledge to do as a resident

As a resident of Royal Greenwich, I pledge to:

  • sort rubbish and recycling into the correct bins and put them out on the street on the right day
  • not litter and take proactive measures to keep my neighbourhood clean
  • help keep our streets clean by not dropping rubbish, gum or cigarette butts
  • never litter, fly-tip or graffiti
  • not allow dog fouling and clean up after pets
  • report issues that need action to the council
  • only leave bulky items outside when they are due for collection
  • only use licensed waste carriers to remove bulky items
  • be proud of my neighbourhood and keep my property and garden maintained
  • not park in an inappropriate way
