Before you start

Before you start this form, remember: 

  • you must not offer any special treatments before your valid licence is in place 

If you are applying for a renewal and this application is not accepted before your current licence expires, you cannot offer special treatments until a new valid licence is in place. 

You will be asked to upload the following documents: 

  • Floor plan.  

  • Electrical installation test certificate for electrics under 5 years old, or an electrical condition report for electrics over 5 years old.

  • Proof of public liability cover of at least £2million. 

There will be a 28 day consultation period after an application is accepted. This is so that the Police and Fire Authority can review the application.

Use and storage of application data (GDPR) 

A copy of the application and all supporting documents will be stored on our database for the duration of the licence holder being in possession of a licence at the premises, plus 3 further years. 

Copies of all applications will be shared with the Police Authority and Fire Authority for consultation purposes, as required under the Act. 

Copies of applications for new licences will be shared with the council’s Planning Enforcement team. 

Copies of applications may be shared with other council services such as Finance and Business Rates, as necessary. 

Information on the business including details of licence holder maybe shared with other regulatory bodies such as the Home Office, HMRC and Thames Water, if requested as part of an investigation.
