If you're both British, or relevant nationals, contact the vicar or minister of the church in which you want to have your ceremony. They'll post your banns and help you arrange your ceremony.
If you or your partner are subject to immigration control and you want to have your marriage with the Church of England or a Church of Wales, you must give notice to your local register office.
We'll refer your notice to the Home Office. When the Home Office approves your marriage we'll issue your schedule, and you can arrange your ceremony.
If you want a religious ceremony in a place of worship that's licenced for marriages and civil partnerships but is not Church of England or Church of Wales, you'll need to give us notice of your intention.
There are no places of worship in Royal Greenwich that are licenced for civil partnerships.
Contact your chosen place of worship directly to book your marriage.
Most religious venues have an authorised person to perform the ceremony. Some do not, so check this with the place of worship. If they do not have an authorised person, you'll need to book a registrar to attend.
