A marriage schedule, or marriage document, is a legal form you sign on the day of your marriage or civil partnership.
It contains the following details of the couple who are getting married or entering a civil partnership:

The registrar will prepare your schedule using the information you provided when you gave notice of your intention to marry or enter a civil partnership.
They'll bring it with them to the venue on the day of your ceremony. You, your witnesses and the registrar will sign it at the end of the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the registrar will record the information from the schedule on an electronic register. This allows them to create your marriage or civil partnership certificate.
If either you or your partner are subject to immigration control, a representative from the place of worship must collect the schedule from the register office in the borough where the place of worship is located.
If neither of you are subject to immigration control, you or someone on your behalf can collect the schedule from the register office in the borough where the place of worship is located.
If you've booked a registrar to attend your marriage in a place of worship, the registrar will bring your marriage schedule with them on the day of your marriage.
The minister at the church will prepare your marriage document for you and bring it to the church on the day of your marriage.
After your ceremony, your minister or vicar must deliver or post your document to the register office within 21 days of your ceremony so we can register the marriage. Once your marriage is registered, you can order your marriage certificate.
