Ask us to manage and protect your finances

If you cannot manage your finances or need help to, the Court of Protection can give the council the power to help you do this if you'd like them to.

This gives the Royal Borough of Greenwich power to manage your finances and legally protect you. This is called a receivership.

This means we can help:

  • manage your finances. We’ll do this with you and your support workers
  • arrange funerals if you die and do not have someone to arrange it for you
  • care for pets or arrange to store property if you go into hospital or need short term care

You can ask your care worker or your local mental health service to refer you. You cannot refer yourself.

To ask for help:

You may need to pay towards your care.
