How someone can help speak up for you

You can choose someone you trust to explain your options and speak up for you. This person is called an advocate.

They can help you:

  • understand your care and support
  • talk about how you feel about your care
  • make decisions about your care
  • challenge decisions about your care

They can also support you during:

  • care assessments
  • care and support planning
  • meetings that review the care and support you get now

We will normally offer or appoint an advocate if you need support.

If you think you need an advocate, please call 020 8921 2304.
