Walkabouts take place on estates and areas within the borough. They give you the chance to help improve the local area for the benefit of the community.

They cover communal repairs, caretaking and environmental issues. You can make suggestions for any small environmental improvements, for example, community notice boards, signage and bollards.

They are attended by Royal Borough of Greenwich councillors and officers from repairs and caretaking.

What happens at a walkabout

Currently, we hold evening meetings with residents first which take place online via Zoom. This is an opportunity for residents to share their concerns with officers before the face-to-face walkabout.

The face-to-face walkabout is then held a few days after the evening meeting on the estate with officers and our Community Participation and Diversity Officer for the area. The issues highlighted at the evening meeting really steer the estate walkabouts and what is investigated.
