Find a home with more support
If you’re finding it harder to live in your own home safely and confidently, supported living may help.
You could get more support if you move:
- in with your own family or friends
- in with another family though Shared Lives
- to housing with support like sheltered housing or extra care housing
- into a residential care home
Move in with another family through Shared Lives
Shared Lives is an arrangement where people who need support to live independently can live with individuals or families in their homes.

Sheltered housing
Sheltered housing is a way to live independently with a bit more support.
It can help if you want to live in a smaller home that’s safer and easier to manage.

Extra care housing
Extra care housing offers more support than sheltered housing. It may be a good option if you do not want residential care and want to live independently for as long as it is safe to.
With extra care housing you’ll get:
- your own self-contained accommodation with private living and sleeping areas and a private bathroom and kitchen
- care and support 24 hours a day to help with personal care
- choice of social activities and opportunities to meet other residents if you want to
- Telecare in your own flat for your own security
We have 3 schemes in Greenwich including:
- Richard Neve House in Plumstead – a mixture of one and two bed flats
- Lakeview Court in Thamesmead
- Colebrook house, The Royal Military Academy in Woolwich – offering a mix of extra care sheltered housing and general housing needs
