Eligibility

If you need a major home adaptation, you will need an assessment from an occupational therapist. They will write up ideas of adaptations that could help meet your needs.

Our housing team will then review the proposed adaptations. They’ll decide if the adaptations:

  • can be funded
  • are suitable and can be done on your home

If the adaptations cannot be done on your home, they will tell you and offer you advice and support with other options.

Some people may choose to move to a more accessible home instead. You could:

  • look for a private home to rent or buy
  • move in with someone you know
  • Ask the council for help to find housing options
